ABOUT RACHEL J HAUNGS
Rachel J Haungs is an award-winning mixed-media artist from Huntersville, North Carolina with a BFA from Appalachian State University. Inspired by the natural world, she works in vivid colour to capture the healing peace of nature by blending the realms of impressionism and expressionism. Concurrently, she draws on her lifelong background in music to find escape from the noise of the digital world through creating energetic and distorted musical instruments. Though open to experimentation, she primarily works in acrylic, watercolour, and oil pastel.
She is an active member of the Mooresville Arts Guild, the Guild of Charlotte Artists, and American Women Artists with notable achievements including the Mooresville Arts 12th Annual Winter Juried Exhibition (Juror’s Choice Award – Craggy Pinnacle Colourscape), the Mooresville Arts 47th Annual Spring Fest Judged Fine Art Show (First Place – Lake Junaluska, NC), and AMPED: The Art of Rock & Roll juried show with the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition.
