Kindred Spirits is a special Members’ only exhibit showcasing visual art pieces, as inspired by the theme of “kindred spirits.” Artists may interpret this theme however they wish and present a finished piece of art in what the theme means personally to them. The definition of a kindred spirit is “A kindred spirit is someone (or something) who shares the same interests, thoughts, beliefs, feelings, values, and attitudes as you. When you meet your kindred spirit, chances are you will hit it off immediately, as you recognize your spirit and energy in each other.” A kindred spirit can play an important role in your life, offering companionship, validation, emotional support, inspiration and personal growth.

This exhibition seeks to celebrate the impact Animals have had on 2-D artists, the ways animals have helped shape artists’ personal and professional artistic journeys.

The weekend features a juried art competition & exhibition, poetry open mic event, films, a workshop, open galleries, a drawing competition, and music and performance events.

My recent diptych, The Ballad of Love and Hate, is a metallic-embellished pair of birds…a dove and a crow. It’s a reflection on the duality of knowing who you want to be and what you deserve while battling self-loathing.

The Art of Pastels, A Group Exhibit is a themed exhibit, inspired by the art media of pastels. Chalk and oil pastels, as well as charcoal, are the only permissible media for this exhibit.

This exhibit will be on display in the Depot’s Skylight Gallery.

This exhibition celebrates the cultural and historical impact of rock and roll, showcasing the exhilarating synergy between visual art and music while exploring the music’s transformative influence on art.

Amped is a visual expression of the energy you experience when this music moves through you and ignites a fire in your soul. We challenge you as an artist to capture and amplify that energy. The exhibition is open to all visual media.

The Band Dyptych - Banjo & Clarinet by Rachel J Haungs are on display at Pop Culture, A Small Works Show is a themed exhibit hosted by Mooresville Arts, inspired by pop culture in today’s society. This exhibit is on display in the Depot’s Skylight Gallery.

The 10th exhibition from The Gallery at Morning Star, “Resonate: The Music Around Us /The Music Within Us” explores and celebrates all the vibrations that affect our existence. Visit it now through September 27th.

An Exhibit of Mosaics opens in the Depot's Skylight Gallery next Tuesday, May 20th and concludes on Thursday, June 26th. The artists' reception will be Friday, May 30th from 6-8pm (not next Friday as that is a holiday weekend). The reception will be held in conjunction with the annual judged photography show, which will be featured in the Depot's Center Gallery.
