In this foundational workshop, artist and content strategist Rachel J. Haungs guides participants through a clear, practical process for preparing their work to be seen—covering everything from documentation and organization to applying for exhibitions and building professional relationships with galleries.
Designed for artists who feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start, this session introduces a centralized system to manage your portfolio, press kit, and inventory—all in one place. By learning how to use the same core materials across applications, websites, and social media, artists can reduce administrative stress, stay organized, and spend more time creating while working more strategically.
Participants will gain step-by-step guidance on documenting their work, preparing images for calls for art and promotion, and presenting themselves professionally. The workshop also covers best practices for finding and applying to opportunities, as well as communicating effectively with galleries.
Each participant will receive a customizable press kit template, including a slide deck portfolio, artist statement and bio worksheets, and an inventory system designed to support both organization and promotion.
This workshop is ideal for artists who want to get their work seen but don’t know where to begin, as well as those who are ready to stop scrambling at deadlines and start building a sustainable, professional practice.
